McCarthy Set to Be Named Cardiff Boss
Friday, 22nd Jan 2021 11:27

Former Blues boss Mick McCarthy is set to be named the new manager of Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds, 15th in the Championship, jettisoned Neil Harris on Thursday following six successive defeats.

McCarthy, who was sacked by Cypriot side APOEL after only two months early in January, is expected to be appointed within the next few days.

The 61-year-old left his previous job as head coach of the Republic of Ireland - his second stint in the role - in April last year having departed Portman Road after five and a half years in April 2018.

Good for him and good for Cardiff. He will do just fine. A much much better manager than Paul Lambert!

He will have money to spend. Will probably get them promoted in the next 2 years. They won't implode like us, they haven't got a muppet like Evans at the helm. Decent job for him. Decent appointment for them.

Forgot to add. See the numb skulls are still on here. Can't take that they were wrong to push him out. They gave him hell, then when he retaliated they cried like the babies we all know they are. All the best Mick.

He will do better there than in Cyprus and at ITFC

The bloke is a complete scum bag. How can any of you say “good luck” to someone who told YOU the ITFC fans to eff off in the middle of the derby. I just don't understand how you can forgive that. I hope he's as successful as he was in Cyprus and is shown up for being the dinosaur and rude northerner that he is !!!

Let's get it right Prebbs. He wasn't telling me and thousands of other Town fans to do one; we appreciated what he did for the club on modest resources. His ire was directed at those whose disgusting chants at Brentford represented one of the lowest points in my many years of supporting the club. I am delighted that he is back in football and those Cardiff fans bemoaning his departure will not be long in changing their tune. Compare his record with that of Lambert and enlighten me as to how we are any better off for the change.

Good luck to a manager who, let's face it, if he were still Town manager we would still be a Championship side.

66notnout; Well said, he just stood up to the minority of bullies who, in typical bully fashion, couldn't take it when he retaliated.

I think if Mick had still been here we maybe would still be in the champoinship, however we would have been playing in front of 2000 people way before the pandemic came.
I also wonder if he will look to sign our Premier League No.8 and influential No.4 in the remainder of the Transfer Window !!!

Press release,McCarthy says I want to put a smile on supporters faces. Best you leave now before they see the team play or put up with the drivel coming out of your mouth.
