Cash Kuqi Stumbling Block

Town manager Joe Royle says that although he is still keen on Sheffield Wednesday striker Shefki Kuqi he thinks a deal is now unlikely.

The Owls are keen on a cash deal for the Finnish striker, however the Blues have no money to spend and want him on loan.

Wednesday had previously shown an interest in Tommy Miller, however he is very much in Joe Royle's plans, particularly after his fine display against Liverpool last week. Miller missed out against Rotherham on Saturday due to tendinitis which keeps him out of action again tonight.

Royle says that he now feels a deal won't happen unless there is some movement on one side or other: "The problem is that Wednesday want money which we haven't got. We wanted him on loan, so there's a stalemate.

"It's not dead, but it looks unlikely. I won't deny my interest in the player, but unless we can come up with some sort of compromise deal I don't think it is going to happen."
