Player of the Year Voting Open
Tuesday, 11th Apr 2023 09:54

Voting is now open for the Town Player of the Year award, the ITFC Supporters Club has announced.

The winner will be announced at the final home game of the season against Exeter City on Saturday 29th April in conjunction with the traditional players’ lap of honour.

In previous years the Supporters Club has staged an event where the Harwich Rosebowl was handed to the winner along with the award of other trophies but so more fans can see the presentation and pay tribute, this season it will take place at the game.

Voting runs from today until midnight on Tuesday 18th April. You can cast your vote here.

Last year, the Supporters Club received more than 10,000 votes with Wes Burns the winner and Janoi Donacien the runner-up.

Can we have 5 or 6 winners this year please?

You are right MillsTash such a great bunch this year.
Morsy so consistent, Chappers a fox in the box and as slippery as an eel to catch, Davis the assist machine, Burgess now the rock in defence, Walton for saving two pens and the number of clean sheets and then we could have a mini comp for 2023 player of the season. Happy days and long may it continue!

For the record I vote for Davis who we can add to the recent list of full backs that have come through PR and destined to play in the PL, hopefully with us :-)

As much as the team as a whole has been fantastic and there are a ton of players who would comfortably win POTY any other year, it would blow my mind if Chaplin doesn't win this year.

Yes I agree quite a few contenders. Walton, Morsy, Davis but for me one guy stands out. My vote goes to Chappers who has been outstanding this season.

For me this is very close between Morsy and Chappers. Two very different players playing very different roles. Chappers has the goals, but Morsy has dominated the centre of midfield and more impressive was his improved disiplinary approach when the ban was hovering over his head.
Just about edges it for me I think.

Chaplin for me! Not just his goals but his around display. Superb!

We have a naff song for Chappers and we don't sing his name enough. Everyone was desperate to see us sign a 20 goal striker and he has delivered. In a team of outstanding candidates it's goals that win matches. Where would we be without him ? Has to be Conor

Think its easy to look at stats and base player performance upon it......and forwards will always benefit the most. Just look at Cristian Ronald....did nothing in games and then popped up with a goal (less than 1 in 2 goal in premiership total before I get shouted down). Messi had goals, assist AND unbelievable skill to go past players. Would love to have seen the goal scoring ratio of Gerd Muller, El Phenomenon, Greaves, Puskas/Kocsis etc if they had the fitness/nutrition/diet/pitches/rules of modern day football.....I digress

Chappers has scored a hatful of of goals but his all round performance has been excellent. Woolfy, Davis, Walton have all had very good seasons. Personally I think Morsey has been immense. His movement, strength and passing have been a real asset to the club. A PROPER captain leading by EXAMPLE.

I think Morsy will get players player of the year and Chaplin fans player of the year. My order would be Chaplin, Morsy and Walton. Most improved player of the year would also be Chaplin followed by Burgess.
