Town Launch New Membership Scheme
Tuesday, 11th Jul 2023 18:12

Town have announced their revised membership scheme ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The Blues have reviewed the existing schemes and have made wider ranging changes than had been anticipated.

A new single membership has been introduced for all adult supporters, the Super Blues membership package priced at £39.99, which will be available to buy here from 10am on Thursday 13th July.

Home games

For games at Portman Road, Super Blues members will receive priority for ticket sales, with non-season ticket holders at the head of the queue. All priority sales will be limited to one ticket per member.

Typical sales window for home games:
Monday, 10am — Super Blues members who are not season ticket holders.
Wednesday, 10am — Super Blues members who are season ticket holders.
Friday, 10am — Season ticket holders.
Monday, 10am — General sale.

The club reserves the right to monitor attendances and add additional priority levels.

Away games

Away sales will be prioritised towards Super Blues members and will work using a newly structured Away Priority Points scheme.

Initially, points will be awarded historically, based on away games attended by members during the 2022/23 season. Going forward, points will only be awarded to active Super Blues members, one point for every away ticket purchased.

Points will be visible on supporters’ online ticketing account in due course to help fans know where they stand in the priority windows.

Those purchasing a Super Blues membership will be awarded a five-point bonus at the point of purchase.

Ahead of the 2024/25 season, any points awarded from the 2022/23 season will be wiped down, therefore supporters will only carry one season’s worth of points into the next. This will be the process ahead of every new season with the oldest season’s collected points being wiped down.

Prior to each away game going on sale, the club will communicate how many points will be required to guarantee a ticket, which will be available at a rate of one per member.

Example sales window for away games:
Monday, 10am — Super Blues members with 30+ points.
Tuesday, 10am — Super Blues members with 25+ points.
Wednesday, 10am — Super Blues members with 20+ points.
Thursday, 10am — Super Blues members with 15+ points.
Friday, 10am — Super Blues members with 5+ points.
Monday, 10am — Season ticket holders.
Tuesday, 10am — General sale.

DurhamTownFan, my dad and I went to every home game in the promotion season. For some reason, we never had season tickets. We couldn't get tickets for the Bolton playoff semi final, but we did manage to get tickets for the final. In the premier league we were stuck in the ballot too. We only got to watch a handful of matches as the fair weather fans were taking our seats and the club didn't recognize our loyalty and commitment to the club.

Agree with most on here. Not value for money as a season ticket holder. I won't be buying. And £40 is a reasonably significant sum to me as a senior citizen

Works for me. As I live in Shropshire now. Gives me a much better chance of going to away matches within 2 and a half hours. Hope they work out you can sit with family members easily.

It seems perverse that someone can pay £40 and be a Member of the Club yet Season Ticket holders are not automatically Members.

Based in the north and a veteran of various poor league 1 away grounds this new membership is £40 quid pretty much for for nowt. The silver membership worked fine. I get dropping the free home ticket which was nice but the ground is full now. Will take a chance with bigger grounds and general sale.

Be useful for ST holders to have the option to add membership to your direct debit payment and spread the cost across the season.

Well, living up North home games have been a luxury for decades but over the dark years it was not an issue to get away tickets. Since the up turn in form and L1 away allocations it has been neigh on impossible to get to away games. I managed one to Lincoln last season and that was it. This new scheme now benefits me so I am happy with it. I can see the other side of the coin but the club are damned if they do and damned if they dont when it comes to any "Scheme" as they will never suit everyone sadly. I am more concerned about the loss of iFollow as I suspect Town TV will not allow the same level of access to live games as iFollow did - Buying the international subscription was a game changer for access. Fingers crossed for some good news on Town TV front soon.

I think most of the comments on this are valid and I'm not looking to argue against them! I can see why loyal fans feel a bit dismayed. To add some balance to the argument however, I missed out on a season ticket (my fault) and live in Surrey so don't ge to see town that often, I try to make as many away games as I can (which always means just one ticket btw) withn a reasonable radius and commitments allowing, but last season, especially the latter part, I didn't get a sniff due to the priority placed on season ticket and high priority members (I'm not arguing against that) just making a point that this allows me, and probably a large pocket of fans to watch the odd game. And loyalty shouldn't just be measured on money!

Living in the middle of Germany and home games are a day trip away. Its s truggle just to get to the home games but I will definitely be there at Hull city away next year. Hope that "Ipswich Town TV" can keep me informed and streamed better than EFL last year? I regularly chat with ex-silver members in South Afric a, USA and down under who dont seem to have been considered in this framework?

As an occasional attender (Dublin based) I am interested to see if I will get tickets for away matches - starting with QPR. Last season I sat in the home stands looking down at the away fans at was the ecstasy and agnony match at Charlton, not a particularly small stadium but away tickets quickly sold out. The key benefit to this scheme is that it gives fans who live far away from Ipwsich the chance to watch Town in Portman Road, not sure if it will help get us tickets for the away matches.

I live 2 hours away and saw no away games last season because tickets were snapped up by season ticket holders - fair enough.
So, I've bought a season ticket and, I'm guessing, I still won't get an away ticket because NON season ticket holders will snap them up - not fair enough.
Will I pay £39.99 ?
Unlikely
