Moore in Team of the Week
Monday, 11th Mar 2024 12:51

Blues striker Kieffer Moore has been named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week for his display against his former club Cardiff City at the weekend.

Moore put Town in front in the 79th minute with his sixth goal in eight starts and one sub appearance since rejoining the club on loan in January from AFC Bournemouth, but the Bluebirds hit back with two injury-time goals to claim the points.

It’s the second time in two weeks that the 31-year-old has been named in the divisional select XI, having been included for his display in the 2-0 win at Plymouth.

Cardiff manager Erol Bulut has been selected as the manager of the Team of the Week.

Five budgies! My fear for this season is that we end up going out in the playoffs to Norwich.

We are just above Budgies, and Cardiff, in the current form table, Wendies just below them.

That’s a real fear of mine and I work with them! If we are to make to playoffs only, I would rather finish fourth and meet them at Wembley!

.....and that was a game when Moore was not at his best apart from the goal. Not sure thrashing the bottom club justifies 5 players in team of the week.

Can't help but feel that if he hadn't been subbed off, Moore might have dealt with those injury time balls into our box better than our defence did.

baxterbasics - Roger Moore would have done a better job with those balls than our defence did.

Moore should have been subbed off way before he scored. He was battered and bruised, and had a poor game really until a moment of class. He wasn't up to another 10 minutes.

God knows How
I may be one of a select few but I would not wish to sign for a fee next season whatever league we are in ball never sticks and v a big man rarely wins headers ie Dickie Bristol City

PutneyBlue.....I've been saying it for a month or two. It seems absolutely obvious doesn't it ?

Its about how our CB's deal with the ball in the box. Ive said for two seasons+ that we don't deal with balls into our box very well. Saturday merely underlined that fact . Yes Moore has helped , but of our Centre Backs aren't doing that job, the question should be , "why"? Its a basic defending skill requirement of any centre back.

As for scum making play offs...well I warned 3 months ago on here that their form was picking up (coinciding with Sargant's return) . I was accused of being a bed wetter , negative etc .All the usual slating ...but here we are .....

Unfortunately , I suspect if we had to play them in the PO's they would probably beat us because we cant deal with teams that defend deep and hit on the break( we are too slow in midfield and defence) They did it at our place ...as many other teams have done .
