Muric in Kosovo Squad
Monday, 17th Mar 2025 14:40

Town keeper Aro Muric is in the Kosovo squad playing Iceland in Nations League play-offs later this week.

The 26-year-old has been struggling with a shoulder problem but had an injection recently and was due to return to training over the weekend and then join up with his international squad from there.

“He’s not training with the group,” Town manager Kieran McKenna said on Friday. “He’s had the injection on a problem in his shoulder that he’s been managing over the last good period of time.

“He’s not trained yet, I think he’s going to start some work tomorrow with the goalkeeper coaches, hopefully he’ll be available to go away with Kosovo if he can get through the one or two bits over the next two days. It will be good to go away and get some game time.”

Muric, who has previously won 42 senior caps, wasn’t among the players manager Franco Foda said were ruled out at a lunchtime press conference having been included in the squad which was named at the end of last week.

The Kosovans host the Icelanders in Pristina on Thursday, then travel to Reykjavik for the second leg three days later.

Blues1 my point is it comes over very poorly, there’s a time and place for everything. I very much get the feeling he is not a team player! KMs poorest signing and I hope we can get some of what we spent back!

@Dissboyitfc
Thanks for comment, my responses are sometimes opinion and sometimes fact based on stats, anyone can post it's a forum.
And when I look at the stats and scores with Muric in goal compared to Palmer and Walton it's a no brainer. 5 mistakes 2 of which in 4-1 defeats, 1 in a game we could of won maybe and 1 vs where we should of won vs Southampton but a game in which he was getting abuse from his own fans. So he cost us 3 or 4 points with mistakes but Davis and Morsy have cost us many more.

It's funny you say defenders have no confidence in Muric, what so they just allowed the forwards through to fire shots at him? So because Davis has so much faith in Walton and Palmer he thinks leaving position and 3 at back is okay?
How can yjey have no confidence in Muric he has played with O'Shea at Burnley, Townsend at West Brom, Delap at Man City and he caught more crosses from corners than any by commanding his box.
Also they don't play out from back half as much now which is what Muric lacked at.
And the Pep thing is ridiculous, before a game yes, a hand shake is fine but having a smile with your former gaffer after a game he didn't even play in hardly makes him a villain, does that mean every manager who had a glass of red with Sir Alex after game was wrong. They all smile and shake hands after games it's a football match, what would you rather he do, growl at the best manager in world who gave him his first shot in England, ridiculous.

Here is something to consider Bristol Rovers in cup Townsend and Muric play concede none
Next 3 games Walton in goal and Davis back we concede 12 goals and score 1
Southampton we lose 2 - 1 first goal who gets beat on right Davis 2nd goal Muric makes close range save but palms out but who scores the player right behind Leif Davis who should of tracked him

Then we go to Coventry Palmer first game but Townsend in and for second game at Villa Townsend plays score 5 and concede just 1

Davis back in team concede 7

Forest Cup Townsend plays concede 1

Next 2 games Davis back in concede 5 Palace game who is through ball put past, out of position Davis and Forest at fault for 3 - Do you see the pattern here, goals are conceeded because of the big gaps on either side to accomodate Davis and all our forwards out of position to accomodate Davis.
It's really bad management that supporters can analyse that but Mckenna can't!
Townsend games 5 goals conceeded only 5
Davis is getting away with it because of last 2 seasons and all new players getting the blame.
Muric is 100% not worst signing we made, they all done well depending what division, now we in Prem currently you could say Al Hamadi or Burns but they were bought in league 1 where they are top players.
If Davis is not dropped for Bournemouth (and he won't be) we are just going to keep leaking goals, Kluivert will be relishing the space.

Palmer was bought to replace Muric because McKenna could not trust putting him back in goal after Walton was injured, otherwise he would have done and put Slicker on the bench.
If not why is Palmer still being picked?
Negativity, blues1, have you looked at the Premier table recently, what positives are you taking from that? Small margins? You have very little to contribute on here other than calling people out, which you seem to believe is your calling. Who cares what you think?
And Leejames99 this infatuation with Davis being the root of our demise is wearing thin. We get the message, time to leave it alone.

@carberry just seen this, as someone else rightly told you, Walton got injured, Muric went in next game, then he got Shoulder injury, so Palmer and Slicker played cup then Palmer went in for Prem game with Muric on bench but as Mckenna has said he actually shouldn't of been on bench, as soon as Walton was fit again Walton was able to be sub and Muric deal with his injury. That's why Palmer was bought in. If all 3 keepers fit Palmer or Muric start with the either on bench. We aren't gonna drop an 8 million, experienced international keeper for a league 1 goalie Walton.

In terms of Davis, it had to be pointed out and proved how bad he has been in Prem and how whole team is based around him playing and that is on Mckenna who keeps picking him. Do you know why?

Leejames99, so when Muric comes back from International duty, because he must be fit now or was that just a smokescreen, he steps back into the team ahead of Championship and League 1 keepers (according to you)? Let's see.
I don't know why McKenna keeps picking Davis, many think he needs a rest, but every post you make has the same argument. I think we all get it.

@carberry I think Muric if fully fit gets in the squad over Walton, and wish he hadn't got injured (although Palmer is a great signing so far despite amount goals conceeded) because aside from those 4 goal losses and his 5 mistakes 2 of which were I those games, nearly all our points have come from Muric being in goal and our scorelines alot closer 0-0, 1-1, 1-0 etc we got many draws and should of won games if it wasn't for player mistakes.

Fair play with Davis it just really frustrates me that our defence is getting a bad rap when they all covering Davis as well as our attacks.our scores have all been super low when Townsend plays only 5 conceeded in his 5 games.

It's not that Davis needs a rest he just isn't quick enough for Prem in what he likes doing, gone from 18 assists to 2.
Even Palmer 11 clean sheets in Championship but in Prem none. Its on Mckenn that, Davis is a good player in Championship and maybe at another club in Prem his style may suit but he is a left back not a left winger and we have plenty of those.
I will stop going on about Davis unless he picked vs Bournemouth. In this international break he should be able to work out what's going wrong.
If all fit which I think they will be our strongest back four is -
Tunazabe
O'Shea
Burgess
Townsend

I think Burgess and O'Shea also have to play as they will both be match fit from internationals.
If Tunazabe doesn't start I'd put Godfery back in a natural right back, he only played half a game and came off as was on a yellow, first goal Son took 2 of them and second he couldn't get tackle in the box because of yellow but, I'm sorry to say, first goal Davis doesn't see the player who he should of been marking coming in, and second he in no man's land as per.
Godfrey didn't become a bad player overnight because Son beat him in a one on one.
If Mckenna picks Davis again then we should have real concerns over his management especially while we still have a fighting chance but we can all see that
