Town to Learn Championship Fixtures Today
Thursday, 26th Jun 2025 09:18

Town will learn their Championship fixtures for the 2025/26 season at midday when they will be available on TWTD.

Fixture Release Day will also incorporate the draws for round one of the Carabao Cup and the Vertu Trophy group stage with both taking place live on Sky Sports News, the former at 4.30pm and latter earlier at 2.30pm.

Town will be involved in the first round of the Carabao Cup, which has added a preliminary round due to nine Premier League clubs taking part in European competition in order for there to be the correct number of teams from the third round stage when they enter.

The situation also means all last season’s relegated top-flight clubs will be involved from the first round, which is not usually the case.

Promoted National League sides Barnet and Oldham Athletic will face last season’s two lowest not relegated finishers in League Two, Newport County and Accrington Stanley respectively, in the preliminary round, which like the first round proper is regionalised on a north/south basis.

Looking forward to seeing who we play first. Im going to guess Watford at home.

Bit of a shame Town enters the Carabao Cup because of the Premier League teams in Europe. I know no one cares about this cup but annoying we are still getting shafted by the Premier League. We have to enter because nearly half the Premier League is in Europe next year?? Simple fix change who enters the competitions. I've always thought Europe entrance should be as follows for each EUROPEAN country (sorry bugs me that non European countries enter the competition too):
Champions League: Winners of the top flight league
Europa League: Winners of the main cup (like FA cup) but goes to 2nd place in league if cup winners were league winners
Conference League: 2nd place in top flight league but goes to 3rd place in league if 2nd place ends up going into Europa League
Then each Europe cup winner advances onto the next level cup

That way each country gets at least 3 entrants and makes leagues/tournaments more special and meaningful

Ipswich v Birmingham first game.......guaranteed.
With all of these Mickey Mouse European competitions getting bigger, and the truly pathetic club world cup(stop the world I wanna get off) about to have yet another detrimental effect on our more important domestic comps, it won't be long before these soulless elite clubs get byes into the last 16 of the FA and Carabao Cups. God I hate football now.

The top PL teams only play their reserves in the early rounds anyway so why should they get special treatment? They treat these lesser cups with contempt anyway until the quarterfinal. Now they’re given almost a bye to that round. Football??

Blues!, hope you're wrong, because that would be tough.
I'd like a home, game, Preston or Hull, if it's away, Derby or Preston because we will get 3000+ tickets and it's going to be well anticipated

Some1 from the club has now apparently leaked the fixtures. So unless they're trying to fool fans, its Birmingham away, followed by Southampton at home.
