Nunez and Mehmeti Set For Caps
Saturday, 26th Sep 2026 10:42

Marcelino Nunez and Anis Mehmeti are set for international action tonight.

Nunez’s Chile face Canada in a friendly in Toronto overnight (KO midnight) with the midfielder set to win his 34th cap and looking to score his fourth international goal.

Mehmeti and Albania host Belarus in Tirana in their opening Nations League tie (KO 7.45pm).

The forward has previously won five international caps and is yet to open his goals account.

Mehmeti came on as a substitute in the 74th minute when Albania had already scored their two goals without reply to beat Belarus. Puts them ahead of Scotland in the table, booo.

And Núñez started for Chilé but got subbed off a couple of minutes after they were reduced to nine men in the fiftieth minute so I guess that was tactical. That Jonathan David scored the only goal of the game for Canada.
