![]() Friday, 25th Jul 2003 15:14 Town manager Joe Royle has hailed keeper target Kelvin Davis as a calming influence. The Blues have put a proposal to Davis' Wimbledon club and are waiting to hear back from their administrators Grant Thornton. Boss Royle says that Davis impressed against Town both times the teams met last season: "It would be lovely to get him. I know him well. He did well against us twice last season. "Kelvin is big, steady and strong. His distribution is excellent. We need such a calming influence." Davis is also well-known to Town goalkeeper coach Malcolm Webster who worked with him when he was at Luton Town. It appears that Lewis Price will continue in goal at Colchester on Saturday afternoon, the youngster having impressed in Sweden. Town supporters are being given the Layer Road end for the friendly which kicks off at 3pm. Colchester have warned fans wanting concessions to bring the appropriate documentation. They offer concessions to senior citizens, students, the armed forces and children. Those wanting concessions are asked to bring one of the following to the club offices before purchasing their tickets: pension book, current student card, armed forces ID card, current UB40, copy of a birth certificate for children aged between 12 and 16, and a current passport type photograph ID.
