Dutch midfielder Martijn Reuser faces the prospect of surgery on his groin injury if a programme of exercise leads to no improvement.

The ex-Ajax player has been out of action for five weeks with the injury. The popular midfielder is currently unable to kick a ball with any power and has seen two specialists who have recommended the strengthening exercises.

However, if these don't lead to an improvement Reuser could find himself under the knife and set for a longer period on the sidelines.
