Town boss Joe Royle has ruled out a summer move for Wrexham midfielder Carlos Edwards, however, he admitted that the Trinidad and Tobago international is a player the club have kept an eye on. Edwards looks set to leave the Racecourse Ground over the summer with Preston having a bid turned down earlier this week.

Royle says Edwards is a player the club have been tracking but is not one he is targeting: "We know the player and we have been aware of him for some time but there is no priority in that area of the team.”

Royle is off to Portugal this weekend where he will be co-commentating for the BBC. Prior to his departure he plans to talk to Town's out of contract players and their agents.
