Naylor On His Knees
Naylor On His Knees
Tuesday, 17th Aug 1999 16:47

Richard Naylor has revealed that he is not the only Town player currently suffering from tendinitis. Last week Titus Bramble was diagnosed with the problem in his ankles and now Naylor is suffering a recurrence in his knees. The on-form striker has suffered with this problem before, missing out a year of his YT days and for half a season more recently. The pain is so bad after a game that he can't even walk up the stairs. The problem has been traced to his posture and this will be worked upon in order to rid him of the problem. Meanwhile he is enjoying his best start to the season and will be determined to stay in the side for as long as possible.

Cambridge United have denied any contact from Town regarding young striker Martin Butler.

Town are offering supporters the chance to vote for their the best Town goal of all time. Well of those that have been televised anyway. The most popular goals will go onto a compilation to be entitled 'Town's Greatest Goals - The Fans' Choice'. To register your vote you'll need these addresses: production@visionsport.co.uk or send a postcard to "Town's Greatest Goals" VSI, 96 High Street, Marlow SL7 1AQ. The closing date is Saturday 28th August 1999. Now to choose between Bontcho's overhead kick, several of Mauricio's efforts or that Williams goal against Reading...

The reserves play Bournemouth tomorrow at the fan friendly time of 2pm. This is apparently in order to save money on lighting, with the Family Night Football scheme abandoned now that the Premiership clubs have pulled out of the Combination League. Town's squad: Salmon, Kennedy, Keeble, Tanner, Mowbray, Brown, Magilton, Niven, Logan, Midgley, Axeldal, Niemi, Inglis, Millar, Moffat and O'Neil.
