Armstrong Joins Darlo Wednesday, 15th Sep 2004 18:15 Released Town striker Alun Armstrong has joined League Two side Darlington on a three-month contract. Armstrong left Portman Road at the end of his Town deal in June. Manager David Hodgson says the 29-year-old frontman is being given the chance to prove himself with the Quakers: "Alun has a great opportunity to get his career up and running again with us. It's a great move for everybody concerned. "But we have to accept that if somebody comes in, Alun will have the option to move on." After leaving Portman Road Armstrong had unsuccessful spells on trial with Rotherham and Bristol City.
