U18s Lose to Millwall

Town's U18s lost 4-2 against a physical Millwall side in an entertaining game at Bent Lane on Saturday morning. Blair Hammond and Kieran Leabon scored the Town goals.

Millwall fielded Curtis Weston, who appeared as a late substitute in their FA Cup Final against Manchester United last season. Town fielded trialist Allicion Blake, a youth team player with Woodbridge Town, in a young side.

Town's first goal came from their number nine Blair Hammond. Town's second goal came from Kieran Leabon after a neat flick from Hammond had put him through on goal.

Millwall's first goalscorer of the day was Ross Gaynor. Then, another player with first-team experience, Joe Healy, added a second.

Mark Ward scored the third before Town started applying some pressure to Millwall. Chris Casement headed just over and Blair Hammond had a good shot saved.

To be fair, Millwall had had a shot pushed onto the post by Blackmore during Town's pressure, but Gaynor scored his second after Casement's mis-kick had left him with an open goal.

Just before Gaynor scored Millwall's fourth, Town had been putting the pressure on and deserved another goal. Chris Casement headed just over and Blair Hammond had a good shot saved. To be fair, Millwall had just had a shot pushed onto the post by Blackmore during Town's pressure.
