![]() Friday, 5th Nov 2004 10:44 Midfield swimming sensation Ian Westlake says he wants to sign a new deal with the Blues. The Clacton-born player says he wants to commit his future to Town to prevent speculation about possible moves. Westlake, who is 21 on Thursday, has 18 months left on his current contract but says he wants to sign a new deal sooner rather than later: "For my birthday I would love to sort out my future here at Ipswich. I totally love it here and I have no reason to ever want to leave. "You don't normally get left with just a year of your contract, so I'm sure it will be sorted out. I'm an Ipswich Town player and I don't want there to be any talk about me leaving or any of that rubbish." Westlake has now made 67 senior appearances for the Blues and has scored 13 goals.
