Derry Deal Falls Through Wednesday, 24th Nov 2004 17:48 Town loan target Shaun Derry's move from Crystal Palace to Leeds United has collapsed. Earlier reports indicated that the deal had been concluded, however, this now appears not to be the case. Leeds wanted to take Derry on loan prior to paying an agreed fee of £250,000 but Palace would only agree to the move if it was permanent from the outset. Brian Morris, a spokesman for the Leeds board, says the Yorkshire club are still hopeful the deal will go through: "We haven't been able to conclude the terms of the transfer to Crystal Palace's satisfaction. "The situation is we wanted him on loan for a month with a view to a permanent move but they have not agreed. "It could happen in the future if terms are agreed." Town recently made an enquiry regarding taking Derry on loan but Palace turned down the request as they are only interested in a permanent switch.
