Town's Playford Road Training Centre will stage a fans' charity match between supporters of the Blues and Cambridge United on Saturday, 14th May (KO 2.30pm). The match is being played to raise funds for the crisis-stricken U's.

Match organiser Adam Pyke told TWTD why he instigated the idea of the game: “As a loyal Ipswich fan, I know first-hand about being in administration and having to sell highly-rated players on the cheap.

“Any money we can raise will be another step closer to saving Cambridge United from going out of business.

“At times, football fans need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Not many people know how near Cambridge United are to going out of business and if the shoe was on the other foot I'd be devastated to see Ipswich fold.

“There won't be an admission price for spectators but people from Cambridge will be going round with buckets and all the Town Fans XI will be putting in at least a fiver each.”

TWTD has been selling fundraising Cambridge fanzine United in Endeavour at recent games and will again do so at the Sunderland and Southampton FA Youth Cup games over the next week.
