![]() Monday, 4th Dec 2000 17:18 Town have apologised to fans for what seems like a miscalculation of the number of tickets required for the away game at Old Trafford. The Blues were offered either 2,500 on a sale or return basis or 6,000 on a non return basis. The former option was chosen with the upshot that the tickets sold out on the first morning with many regular away fans unhappy that they won't be going to Old Trafford. It seems we could easily have sold 6,000 seats for the first return to Manchester United since the 9-0 disaster in 1995. Ticket office manager Bill Leggate said: "There is no doubt that a fixture at Manchester United would be create much demand however the gap between 2,500 and 6,000 to great a risk for the club financially. We apologise to any of our regular travelling supporters who have missed out on this occasion." Town stood to lose up to £80,000 had fans not bought the full 6,000 allocation. Town's squad for the reserve match at Derby tomorrow night contains a few first team players. Titus Bramble, Gary Croft and John Scales are amongst those hoping to impress George Burley into giving them a first team start. We're not sure who this Turner is, but we'll try and find out. Full squad: Salmon, Niemi, Miller, Croft, Scales, Bramble, Friars, Abidallah, Reuser, Turner, Midgley, Logan, Nicholls, Daly, Moffat and Chibogo.
