![]() Wednesday, 29th Jun 2005 09:52 Frenchman Jimmy Juan is expected to sign his year's loan with the club today. TWTD reported last week that the Monaco man was on the verge of completing his season-long switch. Chairman David Sheepshanks confirmed that the 22-year-old is likely to be a key member of Joe Royle's side: "We have had confirmation from Jimmy that he will sign for us on a one-year loan deal. "He has Champions League experience, so we are hopeful he will kick on and be a first team regular." Juan initially joined the Blues on loan in January but a persistent foot injury prevented him pushing into the first team. Striker or winger Dean McDonald is also expected to put pen to paper on his contract when he returns for pre-season training, while Jaime Peters will do the same once Canada are knocked out of the CONCACAF Gold Cup next month. Sheepshanks says that despite claims of Town interest by the player, the Blues will not be making an offer to released Portsmouth keeper Shaka Hislop. The Town chairman has also confirmed our report that the initial bid from Sunderland for Kelvin Davis was well below the £1.25 million mark. The Black Cats first offer was at around £700,000.
