Town's Academy sides both won at the weekend, with the U19s pulling off a spectacular derby win over Norwich. The Blues ran out 3-0 at Norwich's windswept Colney training ground when reduced to ten men after Justin Asiamah had been harshly sent off. Tomi Niemi saved the resulting penalty. The Town goals came from Richard Logan, Nabil Abidallah and Alan Connell.

The U17s beat QPR 4-0, their seventh win on the trot. Goals came from Matt Robinson (2), an own goal and Matt Richards.

Several Academy players have been released by Town, amongst them Finnish keeper Tomi Niemi. Niemi returns to Finland, while full-back Colm Daly is going back to Ireland. Justin Asiamah will have a trial with Hartlepool United. TWTD wishes them all the best of luck.

Town will meet Crystal Palace away in the next round of the FA Youth Cup. Palace beat Newcastle 4-1 in a replay at weekend after the sides originally drew 2-2. No date has been fixed for the game.
