The Blues will discover whether Ricardo Fuller will be granted a work permit for a loan spell at Portman Road at a meeting with Work Permits UK in Sheffield on Thursday.

Southampton frontman Fuller was unable to play for Town at Wolves on Saturday after it was revealed his current permit allows him to play for the Saints but not another club, a situation which is understood to be unique within football.

Town boss Joe Royle is already looking at potential replacements for Fuller should the work permit appplication be unsuccessful. Royle is keen to bring in another frontman as cover while Alan Lee, Danny Haynes and Sam Parkin continue their comebacks from injury.
