Burley at Euro 2000 Mon 12th Jun 2000 10:54 Town manager George Burley has travelled to Holland and Belgium and is said to be watching specific players rather than just looking generally for targets. |
Two Linked to Celtic Wed 07th Jun 2000 10:35 This morning’s top Town rumour is that Richard Wright is a target for new Celtic manager Martin O’Neill. |
Jakobsson Deal Back On Tue 06th Jun 2000 19:56 Andreas Jakobsson. Remember him? He was Town's centre-half target last summer before he decided he didn't want to move abroad with his girlfriend pregnant. Well, presumably she's not any more and there are rumours that he is once again a Town target. The 27-year-old Helsingborgs player is likely to cost Town in excess of £1 million if they decide that he is the centre-half they want. However, given that he's about the sixth we've been linked with this week I shouldn't hold your breath. |
Logan Looking to Start for England Thu 02nd Mar 2000 13:01 Young Town striker Richard Logan is looking to start for the England U81 side in their match with France at Wigan next week. The striker, who came on as sub last night for the reserves, said: "I will try and do well. This is the next level up and we have European Championship qualifying games to come which I hope to be involved in." |
Birmingham 1-1 Town Mon 28th Feb 2000 10:52 Trevor Francis was probably the more relieved of the two managers as Town and his men shared the points at St Andrew's. A Tony Mowbray own goal was cancelled out by a David Johnson strike on the stroke of half-time in a Sunday lunchtime clash which was never the most enthralling of games. |
Back to 5-3-2 Fri 25th Feb 2000 10:23 Town seem set to return to their 5-3-2 formation on Saturday with Wayne Brown coming back into the back three. |
Magilton to Start for NI Wed 23rd Feb 2000 19:54 Jim Magilton is definitely back in favour with the Northern Irish management. The Town midfield man has been named in the side to meet Luxembourg tonight. Magilton will be winning his fortieth cap. Side: Northern Ireland (4-4-2): Carroll, Nolan, Williams, Griffin, A Hughes, Gillespie, Lomas (c), Magilton, Johnson, Healy and Quinn. Subs: Taylor, McGibbon, Murdock, Sonner, M Hughes, Coote, Robinson. |
