Boss Joe Royle has challenged Ricardo Fuller to do enough during his proposed loan spell to win himself a permanent deal at Portman Road. Royle and club secretary Sally Webb travel to Sheffield on Thursday to lobby Work Permits UK in order to gain the Jamaican permission to play for Town.

As expected, Owen Garvan and Shane Supple have been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland U19 squad. However, Billy Clarke will be allowed to travel with the Irish side for a La Manga-based tournament which starts at the end of the month.

Returning loanee Jay McEveley hopes to be back in action with the Blues before the end of the season. It had been thought that the one-time England U21 international's 2005/06 was over after he underwent surgery for a medial ligament injury sustained at Cardiff in November.

Boss Joe Royle says he would allow skipper Jim Magilton to leave the club on loan for the remainder of the season if the Northern Irishman was keen on a switch. Last month, Magilton said he felt he could move on from Portman Road before his contract is up at the end of June.
