Academy midfielder Björn Orri Hermannsson played the full 90 minutes as Iceland lost 4-1 to the Czech Republic in their final UEFA U17 Championship qualifying group game in Andorra. The Icelanders had previous beaten Andorra and drawn with Sweden.

Academy coach Paul Goddard has left the club to take up a role with agent Jonathan Barnett's Stellar Group. Goddard has been working with the Blues youngsters on a part-time basis since leaving his job as assistant manager at West Ham in 2004 having previously been a full-time coach in Town's youth set-up.

On-loan defender Jay McEveley is on standby for the England U20 game against Holland at Burnley on October 9th. McEveley has previously won caps at U20 and U21 levels.
