Jamie Peters picked up his 21st full Canada cap as his side lost a friendly 1-0 in Poland. The midfielder turned full-back was the only Town player in international action on Wednesday evening.

Sheffield Wednesday central defender Richard Wood has agreed to join Coventry City on a loan deal which will be made permanent in January. Town made a move for Wood in August and were believed to be monitoring the situation after the Osset-born defender was transfer-listed by the Owls.

Forgotten man Ben Thatcher is being targeted by Southampton, according to one of this morning’s newspapers. Veteran defender Thatcher is yet to play a game under Roy Keane’s management, having suffered a knee ligament injury in the 3-2 derby victory over Norwich at the end of last season.

Out-of-favour midfielder Owen Garvan lashed in a stunning third goal to help Town’s reserves to a 3-1 victory at Luton this afternoon. Liam Trotter and Pablo Couñago (pen) had already hit the target before Garvan slammed home an Ed Upson corner from the edge of the area off the underside of the crossbar.
