Boss Roy Keane felt both Blackpool’s red cards were close decisions for referee Eddie Ilderton after the Blues’ 2-1 FA Cup third round victory at Bloomfield Road.

Goals from Jack Colback and Owen Garvan saw the Blues through to round four of the FA Cup against nine-man Blackpool. Colback put Town in front early on but Brett Ormerod equalised after the break before Ian Evatt and Rob Edwards were red-carded for professional fouls and Garvan netted the winner with the Blues missing a hatload of further chances.

Boss Roy Keane says midfielder Jack Colback will be staying on loan with the Blues for the second half of the season, while he will also look to extend Stern John and Arran Lee-Barrett’s time at Portman Road. The Town manager is also looking at two or three further additions to his squad during January, while Tommy Smith and Troy Brown could be amongst those going out on loan.

Boss Roy Keane says he’s glad he’s no longer playing if Jon Stead’s tackle on Crystal Palace's Freddie Sears is worthy of a four-match ban. Stead’s appeal against his red card at Palace was rejected by an independent FA Disciplinary Commission yesterday, who added an additional fourth match to his suspension as they felt the appeal was frivolous and had no chance of success.
