Town have returned Florida-based businessman Michael Anderson's investment in the club. The Blues withdrew their offer of a directorship last week after revelations that the 52-year-old Londoner had previously been on the boards of Aldershot and Kettering in the early 1990s.

Both Town's senior youth teams defeated Chelsea at Playford Road on Saturday morning. Ian Nimmo, back after a lengthy absence due to a broken leg, lashed in a last minute 20-yarder to give the U18s a 1-0 victory, while Jordan Rhodes, son of goalkeeper coach Andy, scored twice as the U16s won 2-0.

The Blues are set to receive a six-figure windfall with Marcus Bent reported to have joined Charlton from Everton for £2.5 million. Town negotiated a sell-on clause in the deal which saw the much-travelled striker leave Portman Road for a fee of £450,000 in the summer of 2004.

Town's reserve game with Fulham on Monday has switched back to Portman Road from Needham Market's Bloomfields (KO 7pm). The club is planning to play a number of reserve games at Needham over the winter to help prevent damage to the Portman Road pitch.
