Academy defender Russell Short is on trial with Luton Town. Short has been told he will not be offered a professional deal by the Blues at the end of the season.

Reports in Brighton are linking Dean Bowditch with a further loan spell with the Seagulls next season. Bowditch, who has another year left on his Town contract, spent time at the Withdean Stadium before Christmas and was due to return in January until he picked up a groin injury.

Midfielder Tommy Miller is once again being linked with a third spell at Portman Road. Miller is available on a free transfer with his Sunderland contract up at the end of June.

Academy defender Tommy Smith will miss the European U17 Championships due to his calf injury. Also almost certainly out of the tournament is Icelandic striker Kolbein Sigthórsson, a player due to be watched by the Blues and other English sides at the Belgium-based tournament.
