Town got back to winning ways as Plymouth were comfortably defeated 3-1. Jay McEveley opened the scoring with his first goal for the Blues, Jimmy Juan adding a second before the break. In the second half, Akos Buzsaky pulled one back from a freekick before Matt Richards settled it with a penalty.

Town have revealed the three kits in the running to be next season's new away strip. The Blues will be wearing white when the home kit clashes with their hosts in 2006/07 and 2007/08.

Town have named Kevin Horlock, Nicky Forster and Ian Westlake in an 18-man squad for Saturday's home game with Plymouth Argyle. Owen Garvan is the only player still on the sidelines but the Irish youngster will be back in contention for the Coventry game in two weeks.

Chairman David Sheepshanks says he isn't ruling out approaching Kia Joorabchian if the Iranian-born businessman's Media Sports Investment consortium fails in its bid to buy West Ham United. However, there seems no evidence that Joorabchian has any interest in the Blues.

Boss Joe Royle was reasonably happy with a 3-3 draw and thought the Blues showed signs of getting back to form at Derby. The Town manager had praise for Matt Richards and skipper Jim Magilton, both of whom scored their opening goals of the season.

Matt Richards headed his first goal of the season to give the Blues a 3-3 draw at Derby County. Earlier, Richard Naylor had celebrated his new contract with the opener, before Dexter Blackstock and Marcus Tudgay put the Rams ahead prior to Jim Magilton curling in a freekick and Blackstock's second.

Town are one of a number of sides interested in Canadian midfielder Keegan Ayre. The 17-year-old is on trial at Tony Mowbray's Hibs for the next fortnight but the Blues, Sheffield Wednesday, Dundee and West Ham are also after the youngster.
