Boss Joe Royle says trialist Óscar Vales will probably not be joining the Blues. The former Athletic Bilbao defender has impressed in his week at the club and was set to play for the reserves tonight, but it appears Town cannot agree terms with the 30-year-old Spaniard. |

Town's U18s did their bit towards making it a superb weekend from a footballing and cricketing perspective as they defeated Liverpool 3-2 at the Merseysiders' Kirkby Academy on Saturday morning. The Blues dominated the first half and were two-up at the break but the home side hit back in the second period. |

The Town manager says he was confident his side would beat the Lions even after referee Mark Halsey had given Naylor his marching orders for denying Barry Hayles an obvious goalscoring opportunity. |
