A lacklustre Town bowed out of the Carling Cup at the second round stage after suffering a 2-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers. Ricky Ravenhill netted the first in the seventh minute and Jermaine McSporran added to the home side's lead in the first attack of the second half.

Town manager Joe Royle has confirmed that as expected Lewis Price will start in goal at Doncaster this evening. Price has made two previous senior appearances, at Gillingham in the league last season and in round one of this year's Carling Cup at home to Brentford.

Town boss Joe Royle says he is not expecting to bring in any loan players imminently but doesn't deny he has made a few enquiries. The Blues were linked with Palace's Dougie Freedman and West Brom's Darren Moore at the weekend but Royle is keeping the identities of his potential targets close to his chest.

A ten-man Town U18 side lost 3-2 at Spurs on Saturday lunchtime. The Blues were ahead on two occasions but the home side netted twice in a last five minutes during which Irish midfielder Owen Garvan was sent off.
