Town's various internationals will be hoping that they get places in their sides this weekend with the U21 games up first this evening. Sean Friars is set to captain the Northern Ireland side while Titus Bramble is likley to get a recall to the England equivalent.

As expected Town defender Fabian Wilnis has signed a new contract with Town. The player announced the deal via his own website (www.wilnis.co.uk) and it is as expected a 2½ year increase on his existing contract.

It is being reported that Richard Wright is set to sign a new deal when he returns from international duty. The Town goalkeeper's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has been in talks with the club and it seems Town have secured the services of the keeper for a longer period.

Jim Magilton will captain Northern Ireland in Saturday's game against the Czech Republic if he recovers from a groin injury. With Steve Lomas and Gerry Taggart both out Magilton is Sammy McIlroy's choice to take over the armband. The injury is not thought to be too serious, although he missed training today.

George Burley has conceded that there will be no new faces arriving at Portman Road before tomorrow's transfer deadline. Town have no bids in and Burley seems happy with his existing squad.

Town defender Wayne Brown has gone off on loan to QPR for the rest of the season. Brown has hardly played for Town this season due to a mixture of injury and competition for places. Last season he established himself in the first team squad, but he has featured a lot less this season.

Reports suggest that Town are bringing another Heerenveen player to Portman Road for a short spell. Last week it was reported that Town were to bring youngster Marc van Eijk to spend some time with the Blues and now his team-mate, Belgian U21 international, Ian Claes is reported to be spending a similar spell.
