Ex-Town man Adam Tanner has joined a number of other Town players at Canvey Island. The scandal-ridden defender or midfielder was let go by Colchester just before Christmas and hasn't been able to secure a League club.

The row which occurred after Andy D'Urso's bizarre penalty award on Saturday could cost Town dear. John McGreal already stands to miss three games, possibly the Worthington Cup Final. Now it has emerged that Jim Magilton is to be reported to the FA for comments made on the way off the field.

Town players and management have slammed Saturday's referee Andy D'Urso after the ludicrous spot-kick and bizarre sending off of John McGreal. D'Urso is a man who has faced a lot of criticism in recent years, notably from Manchester United last season.

It seems Andy D'Urso's woeful refereeing and the somewhat poor view at Chelsea led to a number of errors in the TWTD match report. For some reason I wrote 'fifth' when I meant 'fourth' when referring to the sending off of John McGreal. The header on Chelsea's first was from Terry and it was Dalla Bona not Zola brought down for the penalty. Apologies, I'm off to the opticians Monday.

Bad defending and bad refereeing condemned Town to their second 4-1 away League defeat in succession. An early goal from Marcus Stewart, his seventh in consecutive games put the Blues ahead, but an equaliser on half-time and a disastrous second half followed. Referee Andy D’Urso also controversially sent off John McGreal in the aftermath of a penalty decision which led to Chelsea’s fourth.
