Town chairman has spokne out about the stop-start nature of Town's season from now on. The Blues have had a very busy November, December and January, but face a February with just three Premiership games, a March with only two and a gap of two weeks between the second last game of the season and the last so the FA Cup Final can be accommodated in between.

Leading Premiership scorer Marcus Stewart has urged George Burley to raid the First Division for players as he seeks to strengthen his squad. The striker, signed from Huddersfield last season, sees the Nationwide League as a source which goes largely untapped by many Premiership clubs.

It seems likely that Birmingham City will issue a press release this morning confirming that Town's Worthington Cup semi-final second leg will be moved to Tuesday January 23rd. The row between Birmingham City and the police has rumbled on for a few weeks now, but today should see its culmination with all sides meeting to resolve the matter.

Town continue to head the Premiership Fair Play League from Manchester United, Newcastle and surprisingly Arsenal. The Fair Play League may be another method of Town entering Europe with the winners being invited to take part in the Intertoto Cup.

Just as he promised in the summer David Sheepshanks is set to bring us details of the new North Stand. When TWTD spoke to the chairman as the season was about to begin he promised that the rebuilding of the North Stand would begin immediately that Town were safe in the Premiership.

Newspapers over the weekend and today have thrown up new possible identities of Town's major target. Despite Hassan Kachloul admitting that it is him that George Burley has tabled an offer for the rumours haven't abated.

Sven-Goran Eriksson got to see two English goalscorers this afternoon as Town comprehensively beat Leicester 2-0. Had it not been for some inspired keeping from former Southend player Simon Royce and one or two bad misses from Town players it could have been even more. Town went back to fourth in the table as Marcus Stewart became the first Town player to top the Premiership goalscoring charts. He now has fourteen League goals and one in each of the cups, his goal today was also his sixth goal in consecutive games.

Town's first squad in the post-Johnson era once again contains Richard Logan. The young striker made his first appearance in more than a year at Morecambe last week and will hope to come on again on Sunday.

It is emerging that David Johnson's former club Bury will get 20% of Town's profit on the sale of the player. It seems that the deal between Town and Bury in 1997 included a clause which could see the Shakers get around £380,000.

Reports this afternoon suggest that Hassan Kachloul has confirmed that Town are once again interested in bringing him to Portman Road. The Moroccan admitted interest from Town and another club.
