The FA sem certain to launch an investigation into the the Norwich scoreboard incident at the weekend. Reports also claim that the scoreboard operator who perpetrated the slur against Town was due to leave his job anyway.

Town manager George Burley was surprisingly upbeat after Saturday's 4-0 loss to Manchester United. He felt the scoreline flattered United a little while his side are are not getting the rub of the green.

Norwich City have apologised to Town after their scoreboard proclaimed the legend "Manchester United 1, Scum 0" at the weekend. City aim for a family image with the club giving free tickets to schools amongst other things. The term 'Scum' apparently is not in keeping with this.

The eventual scoreline of 4-0 was a touch flattering to Manchester United, although Town can have little argument with the result. The match was much like last season’s game at Old Trafford with United dominant in the first half, but with a second period more even, although Town rarely threatened.

Town keeper Matteo Sereni has finally been stripped of his red card recieved after Robbie Savage cheated at Leicester. Reports earlier in the week suggested this was the case and now referee Barry Knight has confirmed it.

In the end Town could count themselves unlucky not to take a lead back to Moscow for the second leg next week. However, for much of the game it looked like the Russians would run out the winners. Titus Bramble was both hero and villain and Marcus Stewart missed a first half penalty.

Martijn Reuser is likely to be rested this evening as he is suffering froma a knee problem. TWD has learned that the midfielder will probably be OK for Saturday's match at Old Trafford, but will not be in the starting line-up tonight.

A number of fans have posted on the TWTD Message Boards saying they have been charged £24.50 for tonight's game with Torpedo Moscow. TWTD has approached the club and this seems to have been an error.
