Town are thought to have put in a £1 million offer for Hartlepool attacking midfielder Tommy Miller. The 22-year-old former Town youngster has said he will not be signing a new contract at Hartlepool and wishes play at a higher level. Crewe have also made their interest in the player known.

Town coach Tony Mowbray has said the squad is fitter than ever as they continue pre-season training at the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook. Mowbray said that pre-season had moved on a lot since the early days of his career.

Town's 81 heroes are to meet up again this summer to celebrate their achievements 20 years on. The August 30th party will coincide with the opening of the new Galleria restaurant in the South Stand.

As reported this morning it seems James Scowcroft will be on his way to Leicester City before the start of the new season. And it now appears £3.5 million is the price which takes the 25-year-old away from his local club.

Reports this morning say that Town and James Scowcroft have held clear the air talks and that the club well aware of Leicester's interest in the striker. Neither seems keen for the West Suffolk man to leave, but usually reliable sources have told TWTD that a deal with Leicester could well be in the cards.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks has re-iterated that there are no plans for Town to enter the stock market. As Town have developed over the last few years the question has often been put the the chairman, but despite regularly speaking about the issue the directors have no current plans to take the club in this direction.
