Burley in No Rush Wed 16th May 2001 10:33 Town manager George Burley has said he is in no rush for new signings. Recent weeks have seen a plethora of names mentioned in connection with Town, but the manager says that no signing is imminent. |
Academy Dates Confirmed Tue 15th May 2001 18:01 Town's Academy U17s will play Newcastle at Portman Road on Saturday (KO 3pm) in the first leg of the the FA Academy Premier League Final. The second leg will be played at St James' Park on May 23rd (KO 7pm). |
Petrov Tue 15th May 2001 10:46 It has been pointed out that Stilian Petrov plays for Celtic not Rangers. I think the gist was that Petrov is a mate of Ivanov and his presence in Glasgow might be the factor in persuading him to move to Scotland. |
Stewart Back in Training Tue 15th May 2001 10:23 Marcus Stewart is back in full training and will be fit for Saturday's game with Derby. Stewart missed the Manchester City match with a thigh injury picked up in the Charlton game. |
URL Retype Mon 14th May 2001 19:04 Hmm, the URL for reference to the pointy bits of the South Stand should be this: http://www.twtd.co.uk/development |
New Floodlights Go Up Mon 14th May 2001 18:44 Today saw the beginning of the end for the existing floodlight towers at the Churchman's end of the ground. New brighter, whiter lights are going up on the pointy bits either side of the new stand (see http:www//twtd.co.uk/development to see what I mean). |
New Stand Photos Mon 14th May 2001 16:20 The website has some pictures of the North Stand in its new terraced guise as workmen remove the very last of the seats. We also have some pictures taken around the North Stand on its last night in action. Feel the noise, smell the burgers, laugh at your mate caught looking daft by our camera. |
Wilson Link Resurfaces Mon 14th May 2001 14:18 The link with Manchester United's Mark Wilson is again being reported. The story stemmed from George Burley watching the midfielder in a reserve game against Bradford in January. Subsequently rumours suggested that Wilson was the £2 million Premiership player that the club said they had a bid tabled for. |
Wright Set to Sign Mon 14th May 2001 13:42 Jonathan Barnett has backed up George Burley's claim last week that there were only a few "loose ends" to be tied up before Richard Wright signs a new deal with Town. The player's agent has confirmed that a deal is almost certain to be signed before the keeper goes into hospital for a hernia operation. |
Sky Games Announced Mon 14th May 2001 11:03 Town's game with Derby will not feature as a live Sky match on Saturday. Sky will instead be showing the Charlton-Liverpool and Leeds-Leicester games, both at 3pm. After Leeds made themselves Liverpool's main challengers yesterday when they won 6-1 against Bradford it was expected that Town would miss out. |
