Gillingham boss Peter Taylor is sure Gills fans will take to Town striker Jack Marriott during his loan spell with the League One club. Boss Mick McCarthy says Jack Marriott’s development is currently going plan with the 19-year-old set to be on the bench for his new loan club Gillingham in their live Sky game against Wolves at the Priestfield Stadium this evening (Sky Sports 1/HD1 7.30pm). Marriott will be with the League One club until the end of the season unless the Blues utilise a 24-hour recall available after 28 days.

Charlton skipper Johnnie Jackson came off the bench to net a 90th minute equaliser as Town and the Addicks drew 1-1 at Portman Road. Town boss Mick McCarthy felt a draw was probably a fair result after Charlton skipper Johnnie Jackson came off the bench to grab a late equaliser as the Blues’ New Year’s Day fixture ended 1-1. Richard Wood’s own goal had given Town the lead in the first half with top scorer David McGoldrick having a second-half spotkick saved by Ben Alnwick.
