Striker Alan Lee is a doubt for Town ahead of Saturday's trip to Luton with a groin problem. Captain Jim Magilton is out, but French midfielder Jimmy Juan, linchpin defender Richard Naylor and frontman Dean Bowditch all return.

The FA have confirmed that the Blues have appealed against Richard Naylor's red card for "denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity" in last night's 3-1 defeat to Preston North End. Naylor was sent off in the 10th minute after a 'clash' with Lilywhites striker Brett Ormerod.

Town's play-off hopes appear to be over after losing 3-1 at Preston. The Blues were controversially reduced to 10 men early on when Richard Naylor was sent off but then went ahead via Jason De Vos. However, as Town legs tired in heavy conditions, David Nugent (2) and Patrick Agyemang won the points.

Town's play-off hopes received a major blow as Millwall left Portman Road with a 1-1 draw. The Blues started very brightly and Owen Garvan celebrated his new contract with a sixth minute goal, but Town allowed the Lions back into the game and on 85 David Livermore headed an equaliser.

Alan Lee, Jimmy Juan and Fabian Wilnis all face fitness tests on Saturday morning before a decision is made on whether they are ready to face Preston at Deepdale. Lee and Juan were back in full training on Thursday but Wilnis remains out after injuring his knee in last weekend's 2-0 defeat of Leicester City.

Keeper Lewis Price won his second full Wales cap as he came on as a sub for the last 25 minutes of their friendly 0-0 draw with Paraguay. Price did well after replacing veteran stopper Paul Jones, making one superb save.

Ex-Town striker Darren Bent has been confirmed in Sven-Goran Eriksson's starting line-up for Wednesday's England friendly with Uruguay at Anfield. Despite previously being included in a number of squads, the 22-year-old will be making his international debut.
