Former Blue Bobby Petta could be lining-up against his old club later this season after receiving interest from Town's Championship competitors Wigan, and Leeds United. Petta has also criticised the way Bolton Wanderers handled his recent trial at the Reebok Stadium.

Town manager Joe Royle is set to make two changes ahead of Tuesday night's top of the table home clash with Wigan. Kevin Horlock misses the game through suspension while Drissa Diallo has picked up a hamstring injury which will see him miss the entire holiday programme.

With Town's squad small, Royle looks certain to bring Matt Richards into his side to replace Diallo, the England U21 coming in at left-back and Fabian Wilnis switching to the right.

Town have announced that there will be a minute's silence ahead of Tuesday's game against Wigan Athletic in memory of their former manager Harry McNally. McNally, who managed the Latics between 1983 and 85 and held other positions at the club, died over the weekend.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks is in Zurich at the inaugural meeting of the FIFA Club Task Force. Town are amongst the UEFA representatives on the Task Force, which was set-up to draw together views on the game from through the various football federations.

Irish youngster John Paul Kelly was at Portman Road last week and was in the Academy U18 side which defeated Fulham 3-0 on Saturday. Yesterday sources in Ireland reported that Town were amongst a number of clubs chasing the 17-year-old.

Reports in Ireland claim Town are amongst a number of clubs interested in signing former Liverpool Academy midfielder John Paul Kelly. The Blues, Aston Villa, Celtic and former club Liverpool are all said to be keen to tempt Kelly into a return to the UK.

Town came from two goals down at half-time to defeat QPR 4-2 in a thriller at Loftus Road. The Blues had been in front through Jason De Vos but Paul Furlong (2) put the home side in front. However, second half goals from Darren Bent, debutant Darren Currie and Shefki Kuqi won the points.
