Town in for Kachloul Fri 11th Aug 2000 10:49 Stories in this morning papers claim Town have agreed a fee of £2 million for Hassan Kachloul Southampton's midfielder Moroccan midfielder. Apparently Town met with the former St Etienne star last night to talk terms and he could be a Town player as soon as this afternoon. More when we have it. |

Straight Choice for Jensen Wed 19th Jul 2000 11:03 Claus Jensen will today make the choice between furthering his career with Town or continuing at Charlton. Both clubs have agreed a fee of around £4 million with Bolton and it is now up to the player whose offer he accepts. It has emerged this morning that Jensen talked to Alan Curbishley at Charlton prior to visiting Portman Road yesterday. He then spoke with George Burley and David Sheepshanks (who seems to have put off his holiday to complete the deal) yesterday evening. Talks are reported to continue today and so far no press conference has been organised for today. |
Bolton Players Rapped on Knuckles Mon 10th Jul 2000 21:33 Bolton Wanderers players and manager have been hit with surprisingly minimal fines after their ill-disciplined display against Town in the play-off semi-final second leg in May. The club itself has been fined £25,000 with the individuals involved also fined: Paul Warhurst a £2,500 fine, Gudni Bergsson £1,500. Paul Ritchie and Michael Johanson were fined £750 each. |
Stockwell Trains with Colchester Mon 10th Jul 2000 13:39 Former Town stalwart Mick Stockwell is training with Colchester while he weighs up where he should continue his distinguished career. Colchester manager Steve Whitton has made Stockwell an offer, but the 35-year-old is going to consider this as well as other options over the next few days. Stockwell said: "I have to keep all my options open at this stage. I won't be closing any doors, and Colchester are a club in the shake-up. I'll be training at Layer Road this week. It will be a chance to regain my fitness after the break. Nothing is done and dusted yet. We’ll have to see how things work out." There will be quite a few familiar faces for Mick as Colchester these days is basically an Ipswich veterans team. |
Burley weighs up Scales Tue 27th Jun 2000 17:00 George Burley has confirmed interest in the out of contract Spurs defender, John Scales. Scales, 33, could also be lining up alongside Coventry defender Gary Breen. He is seen as surplus to requirements at City, as they have a glut of central defenders with Paul Williams, Colin Hendry, Richard Shaw, Mo Konjic and Breen all competing for the positions. The fee is rumoured to be around the £2million mark for the right-footed 27 year old. |
