Town lined up with John McGreal returning from injury, but the centre-half lasted just 14 minutes before being replaced with Fabian Wilnis, himself substituted with injury late on when he was replaced by Mick Stockwell. Martijn Reuser made his first start for Town on the left of a three man midfield as Town returned to 5-3-2. Like McGreal this didn't last the whole of the first half with 4-4-2 being used in the latter stages and throughout the second. Gary Croft started at right wing back, but moved to left back as Wilnis moved to right back. Jamie Clapham moved to the left of midfield, while the ineffective Reuser moved to the right wing. Town once again lined up without Marcus Stewart, a recurrence of his previous injury was apparently cited on this occasion. | Town 1-0 Fulham Sun 26th Mar 2000 23:20 Town continued their return to form with a win over Paul Bracewell's Fulham. A late goal from substitute Martijn Reuser on his debut was enough to see Town hold onto second spot as Manchester City and Birmingham both came from behind to win. | Scowy and McGreal Missing Tue 07th Mar 2000 18:15 Both James Scowcroft and John McGreal will be missing from tonight's side meeting Blackburn. Thu 13th Jan 2000 12:32 Out of prison Town star Gary Croft may start Saturday's game with bottom of the table Swindon. The electronically tagged defender came through yesterday's 1-0 reserve win over Gillingham with manager George Burley commenting afterwards: ""He will be in contention for Saturday's home game against Swindon. I was very pleased with how he came through the game. He is a naturally fit and very enthusiastic boy who is happy to get back playing." With Fabian Wilnis suspended there seems every chance that Croft will get an early chance to make amends for his rather troubled start at Town. |
