Sven-Goran Eriksson got to see two English goalscorers this afternoon as Town comprehensively beat Leicester 2-0. Had it not been for some inspired keeping from former Southend player Simon Royce and one or two bad misses from Town players it could have been even more. Town went back to fourth in the table as Marcus Stewart became the first Town player to top the Premiership goalscoring charts. He now has fourteen League goals and one in each of the cups, his goal today was also his sixth goal in consecutive games.

Town still have around 2,000 tickets available for tonight's Worthington Cup semi-final with Birmingham City. Either it seems fans are not interested in watching Birmingham or some have felt that they had no chance of getting a ticket to the game.

Mark Venus will miss tomorrow's FA Cup match at Morecambe. Venus picked up an ankle injury and a bruise on the shin in training and looks certain to miss out. He was also missing from the squad announced yesterday as people with more eagle eyes than your correspondent spotted.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks has apologised to fans for a mix-up which has seen some fans miss out on a trip to Old Trafford. The Town chairman explained that Town had been offered 2,477 tickets on a sale or return basis and thought they have been offered another 3,000 tickets on a no return basis.

Town fell to their second home defeat of the season as Derby weathered a second half Blues storm. A deflected first half Rory Delap goal was enough to give the Rams the three points which moved them out of the bottom three.

Reports are coming in that Richard Wright may be a doubt for tomorrow's Worthington Cup clash with Coventry. Wright is suffering from a wrist injury and didn't train today and is rated as doubtful for tomorrow.
