timleatham added 09:17 - Aug 26 Was really interesting to see how our mostly fringe players would perform in the dreaded league cup which Ipswich have performed so poorly in for as long as I can remember! There was a lot of rustiness in the first half with our midfield not really getting hold of the ball, and our full backs not getting forward into threatening positions. I honestly thought Nunez had a poor half and I wondered if he might be pulled for the second half! Leicester edged the half. However we did look threatening going forward and I felt we had a goal in us. Second half our midfield clicked. Cam started playing lovely balls over the top into space and several players starting delivering long raking passes. So frustrating that we often had a player off side. Chuba was winning the ball more and his hold up play and pass that set up Egeli’s goal was class. Such a shame he did not manage to convert his ne of his many goal scoring opportunities. Then it became the Nunez show! We have all seen how dangerous he can be at set plays, however the skill for his two goals was top drawer, and and hopefully a huge confidence boost for him. Was also really nice to see how pleased Ensisco was for him!
