Your Sheffield Wednesday v Cardiff City Match Reports

I'm sure that like many going to the match last night i thought tha this was one game we could win! But when i saw the line up 451 and that Drury was in an attacking role, i couldnt believe that this was the best way of getting the first home win.
With JET playing wide right it became clear that PJ approach was to use him in the same role as Murphy. While JET did well, i'd prefer him in the centre with Campbell who needed better support than Drury!!
Our goal looked fortunate but at least the players were doing better than late. That was until Higginbottom decided to hook the ball back into play and set up their first goal. It was a bad mistake from such an experienced player. Smith would have done better!!
In the second half Derby were cutting through too easily and we were lucky that they didnt score from numerous chances. However when Campbell came off our attacking play went downhill as neither Chopra nor Scotland looked likely to score. Drury had to come off but not Campbell. Better that JET move up and Carson given a chance.
For me Jewell lost the game with his negative tactics and poor substitutions. We have a team that is capable of much better but not uner Jewell

An absolutely dire performance, the most abject and lifeless that I have ever witnessed from a Town team. 1 goal down in under a minute, the teams brittle confidence was there for all to see and the Ipswich supporters were only too aware that a fight back was never on the cards.
The new manager has a massive job if he is to turn this team around on the evidence of today's performance.

Complete waste of effort from some players ! Luke showed his usual com mitment and worked tirelessly as did Richie and Josh . A lot of the more senior players should take note of the pride Luke and Josh showed in the shirt ! It is time the players fronted up and apologised to the loyal supporters for the poor fare they have dished up this year . They should also do the same to the staff as it makes them appear not to be working on improving the players . Relegation now a stone cold certainty !!!!

At the moment this lot couldn't pass water, I felt like going home at half time, inept defending, no guile or inventiveness in midfield, and forwards who couldn't hit a barn let alone a barn door.
One thing that really pi**ed me off were the idiots in the north stand who booed when Cresswell lined up the third free-kick, the team maybe crap but what a wonderful lot of supporters you are, you have got the team you deserve, crap team, crap supporters.
I will not bother reading any more posts, only the news on this site, because some plonker will be on here trying to justify their actions

well grumpy were you impressed by cresswells two earlier "efforts"
The guy is playing worse by the week. I dont recon he would start for his old club tranmere now. Ever since Villa allegedly looked at him he has gone backwards rapidly. Those free kicks today were abysmal for a pro player . You would think he would have the courage to give the ball to someone else after that effort.

The crowd shouted "you're not fit to wear the shirt".....they were spot on.
I dont know if I have ever seen an ITFC team so gutless, lacking confidence and in many cases obviously not wanting to be there. Sheffield Wednesday are a poor side but we made them look like Barca and Kirkland barely had a save to make. Hyam worked hard and showed the right fight whilst Martin, Carson and Mohsni put in effort at times. However the "performance" of the other players was unacceptable. Last season our full-backs were our stars, this season has been a very different matter and both were very poor today. Some of the clubs more vocal tweeters are also not pulling their weight.
These players are a disgrace and do not deserve to be at this fine club.
The new manager once appointed will have a massive job on his/her hands to turn the team around and try to avoid relegation.
IMHO they should start by jettisoning most of the loanees and build team around likes of Hyam, Carson & Loach. Any senior players who dont want to give 100% effort should be frozen out or sold at earliest opportunity.
It will be a long hard road but just hopefully we will get our Ipswich back

Rubbish.

Clearly the only way to get over to the players and management, the fans feelings is to totally boycott the next home game because they do not deserve our support.

Whoever is chosen as the next manager can we ask him one question. Do you ever play one up front. If the answer is yes don't employ him. Please only choose someone who has never heard of one up front.

Find a man who knows how to defend and build a team from the back. ME mess this up and this club is dead.
