Town were not that bad. Basically KMc's tactics did not work and Rowett organised their defence well. Each of our crosses were snuffed out. We lost because we conceded the first goal and gave Oxford the momentum and then didn't up our game. We had most of the pocession and no luck. Just a bad night. We can do better.

We really do need to get a decent striker in January otherwise we will continue to huff and puff and get nowhere

Should include Kieran in markings as I’d only give him 3 for last night. He should have got wide players to stay out and not cut in as Oxford were prepared for this plus not keeping cover for any counter attacks. He must have known from previous games how few teams win there this season. We could have afforded to play two attackers as Oxford defend deeper and rely on breaks. Surely therefore better to keep ball out wide where there’s more space. Davis goal was good example as he found loads of space and time to score!
Every time Egile cuts in he gets crowded out, better to get by fullback and then pull back from line and keep away from keeper, simple!
Overall we’re too slow. Possession doesn’t win games it just slows the game down and gives opponents time to defend.
