Perspective Needed

Just wanted to make a few points on our current situation and why we are exactly where we are expected to be in the table.
1 The obvious - our meteoric rise in 2 seasons. Please let us not forget the monumental achievement of this manager and squad to even be here. They deserve our full backing even if we remain in the bottom 3 all season.
2 We were firm favourites for the drop and rightfully so. What divine right do we have to be above any other club, all of whom are more established in their squads and infrastructures due to having recent prem experience.
3 A major overhaul of playing staff was needed, more than any other side. This was essential and will always take time to bed in and for relationships to form. Unfortunately this league is brutal and time is not a luxury any new side is afforded. Some of those signings may not work out, that's football. It was a gamble the club had to take imo.
4 An almost complete lack of prem experience with our manager and playing staff barring a few. They will learn so much this year whether they survive or not. In hindsight maybe some more experience was needed as it's a different animal to the championship. Hard to attract those players though when you are the new boys.
5 Genuinely feel we've been a bit unlucky, especially with injuries disrupting our squad. Feel we've been punished on a lot of errors and not been gifted much ourselves, although chance creation has not been good enough either. Very fine margins but we could be on a few more points with a bit of luck and if some questionable decisions had gone our way instead.
That's just a few things off the top of the head. I'm not a happy clapper, I know McKenna has made mistakes as have the players, I would expect it with a new squad taking their first steps in the top flight. But they're giving it everything, are competing hard and they've earned the right to have us behind them every game. If it proves too much too soon bring on the Championship and we'll go again! COYB
