 | Forum Reply | One other point about Cook being made at 12:27 11 Apr 2021
The players are having it easy this season by not getting feedback on their performances from a crowd in the ground. I would rather the manager give them feedback straight after the game than talk to the media. Regardless of whether they will be here next season. Post match press conferences are a waste of time. They don't change anything. Let the performances speak for themselves |

Good for Paul Cook to get a win but more importantly another performance to help him decide who to keep for next season and any out of contracts he decides not to keep should be paid up and told to go now. Forget pipe dreams of promotion this year. |
 | Forum Reply | Why doesn't ME hire Sheepshanks to come back as Chairman? at 17:23 18 Feb 2021
Ultimately from Sheepshanks' reign he got a long career in football admin, hobnobbing with the FA, UEFA, Football League etc., and we got a couple of exceptional seasons 20 years ago followed by going bust and "rescue" by Marcus Evans. Sheepshanks was more facade than substance. PRSheepshanks. |

It's the van that's white, not necessarily the driver |

As an Essex member, don't think Bowden can take credit for the on field success, that was down to a new hands - on chairman who radically changed the cricket management structure. Bowden was good at bringing in money from corporates etc, but for the rest of us it was charging more for less every year. |

Totally agree, free kicks and penalties used to be conceded or given away, now they're like a prize to be won. |

Not condoning Salah's dramatic collapse whatsoever but if the defendant keeps his upper limbs to himself there's no opportunity "to go down". Use of the arms to impede, hold, tug, obstruct etc. is not football. |

You must remember the golden rule:- Luke Chambers is not at fault. Someone else must be. |
 | Forum Reply | Evans isn't an idiot, he knows a bit about football at 14:53 10 Jan 2021
Evans clearly resents not keeping MM and remembers that one of the factors was a section of the support's dislike of the style of play under MM. The "non negotiable" style of play is his pathetic reaction to that. He knows he will never make any money out of ITFC or get us back to where we were when he came. So he might as well enjoy p***ing off the supporters. Nobody likes him but he doesn't care. |
 | Forum Reply | Accrington Stanley are a point ahead of us, at 22:30 9 Jan 2021
It's not anything to do with size of club however measured, but most people would see that Accrington are currently getting more value for their budget than us and many others. The salary cap will make high standards of player development, selection, recruitment and coaching critical. With Evans, O'Neill, Lambert and Co., we've got no chance. [Post edited 9 Jan 22:35]

Third tier quality is what we have so good enough for this level. And our players are capable of doing better than to date with semi-competent management, but not necessarily to get out of this league. We have too many players for whom itfc at this level is a comfortable place to be in the twilight of their careers. Semi-competent management might deal with that. |

Agree with that, the standard of coaching is another thing acceptable to the owner. The owner accepts lower standards than most supporters, including standard of players. Can't blame the players, including the captain for making the most of it. |

Chambers epitomises the standards that are acceptable to the owner. A bog standard second tier player when he joined us, now a bog standard third tier player. Fortunately the team's level of competence has kept pace with his, enabling him to maintain a comfortable career and living. Don't blame him for making the most if it, blame the fools who employ him. |

Only 20 full time players per club wouldn't go far in 2019 let alone now. ITFC is only being sustained by owner covering losses with debt. And it's far from the only club doing that. Rich men buying football clubs as an ego trip has been good for players and their agents, but rarely good for fans. I blame Jack Walker. |
