Omari not travelled, apparently (n/t)

Pardon me for saying so but if his head really is in another place that constitutes a fairly substantial injury.

It is difficult to answer that question without being fully appraised of what they were doing and how they were doing it at the time of his conception.

There are many charismatic Alans in this world with magnetic personalities; one only has to think in football terms of Alan Shearer and Alan Hansen. Then of course there is my good self, and I have often been described as someone whose arrival at parties brings an extraordinary and entirely different atmosphere, which is why I perhaps do not get invited to quite so many these days.

I found it up Bury market too and I have only recently been granted parole.

It turned out that the gentleman of whom I asked about the availability of 'gobble cocks' was not the Suffolk born-and-bred poultry vendor from whom I usually purchase turkey chicks at this time of year, but was his London-born doppelganger and also, unfortunately for me, both the new market inspector and a part time magistrate.

Has anyone seen Mother's muff?
at 17:09 7 Jul 2024

It is silver-grey and rather threadbare these days, but she is rather attached to it and likes to bury her hands in it whilst out and about on unseasonably cold days like today.

Lost in the vicinity of Bumpstead Road, Haverhill, presumably when her invalid carriage bounced on one of those appalling potholes of which Mother has perhaps the largest I have ever seen right outside of her house. I hope our new member, Mr Timothy, is going to have something done about mother's massive hole. His predecessor, the appalling Mr Hancock never did do anything about the spate of fornication in the street outside Great Aunt Harriet's place on the other side of town.

Might I take the liberty of introducing another line of debate regarding your use of the adjective 'feintest' here?

My first thought was "Bravo!" that is actually the correct form because the derivation of the phrase must surely be from the 'feint' lines on paper - i.e. your 'clue' or understanding is not even that which is the most thin or slight.

However, according to the authority of various respected dictionaries, it seems that 'faintest' (which most people would probably tend to use) is in fact the correct form, because the derivation is from 'weak' or 'not clear'.

I would contend that your form is much better, was probably the origin of the phrase, and really ought to be re-instated forthwith. I intend to write on the subject to all of the major dictionaries and hope to be able to report back here with their responses.

Apropos of this I had communication recently with a person on here whose identity I have forgotten, who enquired as to whether I thought I was Suzy Dent. I can categorically state that I do not think I am Suzy Dent, and I have no idea whatsoever what a 'glory hole' is.

Our front three is unique
at 12:20 5 Mar 2023

I think that you will find that there can be multiple things 'which' are unique, but in different ways.

Various professionals over the years have suggested that I am unique (often very loudly and aggressively, uniquely), and I am sure that there is at least one other entity in the universe which is also unique, but in a different way.
