With a 3 1/2 hour, 200 mile drive on a Friday night alone I am not surprised at all at their attendance, add in very poor form, I am more surprised at the numbers who did make the trip many of whom stayed to the end and applauded their team and manager. That was top class support from the blades fans. Friday night games very usually have low attendances.
I would be surprised if we see him Friday, even off the bench, he has spent little or no time with the rest of the team and played 80 minutes on Tuesday night. But at 19 that may not be a problem for him.
The role or box to box midfielder is very intense, as we saw yesterday it will take two of them to maintain a high level of performance and raise the tempo at the end of games. Also lot of Saturday, Tuesday Saturday games as well. They will need to rotate to keep up the pace of play needed to get those last minute winners.
Also, with Azon and or Akpom in the middle to get onto the end of crosses, both big strong players who are really good with their feet as well as in the air. I am very happy with the new players we saw yesterday and can't wait to see Nenez and Egeli in action. The coaches now have to get them all into the patterns of play and gell as a team, which unsurprisingly was largely missing yesterday, apart from small periods of play.
My thoughts were that with Norwich selling a player or two every year, what message does that give to any player that would like to test himself at a higher level? If Nunez hadn't been sold then Sargent would have been and Sargent will definitely go at the end of the season, if not January.
He would be in a similar role to Jens I think, so if they would share that midfield ball carrying role, high intensity with less minutes from both would reduce the pressure to play when not 100%.
A tall, strong, good in the air CB will always have a place against certain teams, I'm surprised that he wasn't involved at PNE, he looked more than decent at Aberdeen.
